DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #313

24.02.2015

Good morning everyone,

the new theme over at the Everybody-Art-Challenge is «Monochrome».

Therefore I created a blue Birthday card combining two current popular techniques:  Stenciling and Watercoloring.

At first, I did the stenciled background using the fabulous «Tweed Pattern» stencil from Hero Arts and Wendy Vecchi white embossing paste. After letting it air dry for about 30 minutes, I added three bluish Distress Inks (Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire) and water. I heat set it with my heat tool and did some random ink splatters.

Since this background reminds me of an underwater world and the recipient's zodiac is Pisces, I added the little fish from the «Ori Kami» stamp set from Altenew. I heat embossed it on vellum and did some fussy cutting. My sentiment was build with the Mama Elephant's «happy» die cut («Happy Script» die and foil cardstock) and a white embossed «birthday» by Winnie & Walter.

At least, I adhered some matching sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and my stash.

Same but different #6

18.02.2015

Hello peeps,

it's time again for our monthly «Same but different» challenge. Do you want to know more about this challenge? Please click HERE.

This time we used the «Chrissy Butterfly» die from Simon Says Stamp:

And here is the Birthday card I created doing some Partial Die-cutting:

You can't see it very well on the photo because I used three little rhinestones to build the body of the butterfly. Unfortunately, they cover up the part where the paper actually is not cut.

These summer DPs are from the «Family Ties» paper pad by Pebbles. I heat embossed the swirl from Mama Elephant's «So Breezy» stamp set in «Liquid Platinum». The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and I heat embossed it in white. To finish my card I added some sparkly sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

If you have the same die and get inspired by our challenge, feel free to play it with us! Leave a direct link to your project in the comment field below (No back links, please! It will be funnier to see new creations!). You can also upload your cards to our Same but different challenge Flickr gallery! Thanks to Stéphanie for joining!

Now hop over to Francine to see her awesome creation.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #312

17.02.2015

Hello everyone,

with some delay I want to show you my card for the current Everybody-Art-Challenge.

It is based upon this week's sketch by Andrea/Emmi41:

I did some watercoloring with Distress Markers. To give it a softer look, I stamped the image from the «You are pawesome» stamp set by Simon Says Stamp in Versafine «Smokey Gray». The sentiment and the paws («Purrfect Pair» from Mama Elephant) were heat embossed in «Liquid Platinum» from Ranger. I die-cut some tiny hearts from yellow cardstock using the «Confetti» die from Mama Elephant and covered them with Glossy Accents.

Since I love these little paws so much I stamped some more with white pigment ink.

I am entering this card into the following challenge:

DT bastel-traum.ch Challenge February

15.02.2015

Happy Sunday everyone,
http://bastel-traum.blogspot.ch/

it's time for the new bastel-traum.ch Challenge with the theme «Get Well». The current challenge will run until March 15th, 8:55 am CET.

Since there is a lot of flu around at the moment, it's always good to have a sweet card on hand to make someone feel a bit better.

I created a card with the adorable «Get Well Soon» stamp set from Lawn Fawn. For the card base I used one of my favorite cardstocks: «Taffy» from Bazzill. To add some texture I used the «Scattered Bars» stencil from My Favorite Things and Wendi Vecchi white embossing paste. I masked off a circle for the birdie and the bottle of medicine which I colored with Copics. To make the circle more visible I pierced some tiny holes using a template. I die-cut the speech bubble from the «A Birdie Told Me» Lawn Cuts set. Then I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark and heat embossed it in white.

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #311

10.02.2015

Good morning everyone,

this week we want to see some «Baker's Twine» on your creations for the Everybody-Art-Challenge.

I made a masculine Valentine's card with a woven heart out of light blue and white baker's twine.

Therefore I used a Stampin' Up! piercing template with a heart shape and a piercing tool. I randomly run my baker's twine through all the pierced holes and adhered the ends on the back. I die-cut it with one of the «Stitched Cirles» from Simon Says Stamp and mounted it with foam tape to the card panel which is covered with a piece of an old SU designer paper.

To build my sentiment I die-cut the «happy» (Winnie & Walter «The Big, the Bold and the Happy Cutaways») from silver foil cardstock and heat embossed the other two words (Winnie & Walter «The Big, the Bold and the Happy») in white. Finally, I adhered three silver sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and a little white die-cut heart. That's it ;o)

Thank you so much for stopping by!

DT Stempelgarten Challenge February

05.02.2015

Good morning everyone,

where has the last month gone so quickly?!

http://stempelgartenchallenge.blogspot.ch/

So it's time for the Stempelgarten Challenge. For February we want you to create «Anything but a card».

I made a tag using this cute professor from the «Perfect Chemistry» stamp set from Your Next Stamp. So glad the Stempelgarten Online Shop now carries some stamps and matching dies from this manufacturer.

The tag was die-cut with the «Tag You're It» Die-namics from My Favorite Things. For a tone-in-tone look I stamped the YNS «Large Splatter» in «Audrey Blue» ink by Simon Says Stamp. I colored the professor with my Copics and fussy cut him. The sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped in Versafine «Onyx Black». To finish my tag I added two little hearts and some baker's twine.

This challenge runs until February 28th, 2015 and you can win a voucher with a value of CHF 20.– for the Stempelgarten Online Shop.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Homework OCC | Clean and Simple 4 | Day 1

04.02.2015

Hello everyone,

Don't laugh at me, because I'm WAY BEHIND with my homework for the Online Card Class «Clean and Simple 4».

http://onlinecardclasses.com/CS4/class-info/

The lessons are already over and I really enjoyed them – there were a lot of fun techniques I would love to try.

For Day 1 I picked the technique that Jennifer McGuire was showing. She did some heat embossing with multiple powders and masking.

And this is what I came up with:

I really wanted to use a butterfly for this technique but it wasn't so easy to find a background stamp that worked well with it. At first I stamped the Hero Arts «Four Leaf Grid» background in VersaMark onto Bazzill «Taffy» cardstock. I then die-cut the «Paulina» butterfly by Simon Says Stamp from a sheet of Inkadinkado «Stamp Masking Paper» and adhered the negative carefully to the panel. I heat embossed the butterfly with «Calypso Coral» embossing powder from Stampin' Up!. The rest was done with clear embossing powder from Ranger.

Since I wasn't really happy with my embossed butterfly (the shape of the wings' tips aren't showing so well), I die-cut the smaller «Chrissy» butterfly (SSS) from vellum and adhered it on top. To embellish my card I added a matching MME enamel dot and this gorgeous «Danke» (which means «Thanks») chipboard from Create A Smile.

I don't know if I will have the time to create more cards for this class but I will surely use those techniques in the future.

Thank you so much for stopping by! See you tomorrow!

DT Everybody-Art-Challenge #310

03.02.2015

Good morning peeps,

it's time for a new theme over at the Everybody-Art-Challenge and we want to see «Text as a motif».

Just the perfect occasion to pull out this «My Favorite» stamp by Neat and Tangled.

This gorgeous handwritten sentiment is large enough to be the focal point of an A2 size card. I stamped it in VersaMark and heat embossed it in white (Hero Arts White embossing powder). Then I grabbed some of my favorite Distress Inks (Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon, Picked Raspberry) and did some Watercoloring. Being a very clean crafter it's not that easy for me to do something that is so not under my control. But at the end, I really like how this turned out and I was brave enough to add some splatters, too ;o)

With my card I'm taking part in the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Anything Goes
Stempelküche Challenge
Challenge #11 – Heat Embossing
